Healthy skin has always been in style, but the key to clear skin is much more than what you find in a beauty supply store. Living a healthy lifestyle is important when it comes to skincare, you have to be treating your body well from the inside out.
If you were going to the gym every day and eating a fast food meal after, you wouldn't see results. Bettering your health, skin, and body you must align your goals externally and internally. Your skin is not defined completely by your morning or nightly routine and you must treat your body well to achieve beautiful skin. Granted, there are amazing skin care products on the market, but these products can only do so much if you’re not furthering a healthy lifestyle. Here are a few of our tips on how to enhance your skin naturally.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
Water is one of the main components of maintaining healthy skin. Studies show that if the outermost layer of your skin is not hydrated it can lead to dryness, the skin being flakey, tight and less resilient. When the skin becomes less resilient you are more prone to wrinkles. Water reaches the skin last in the hydrating process which is why it is so important to be drinking more than 64oz. of water per day, helping your skin from the inside out.
Stay safe under sun exposure.
Too much exposure to UVA and UVB rays can lead to a sunburn. To cut the risk of sunburn and potential skin conditions or problems, you must protect yourself with sunscreen.
Get enough sleep.
Skin cells begin the rejuvenation process at night, repairing the damage that has been done throughout the day. Sleep boosts the production of substances needed to protect and renew. Some other implications of losing sleep include:
- Worsening skin conditions
- Detraction from skins natural beauty
- Accelerates the aging process
Exercise is great for your lungs, heart and mental health. Increasing the blood flow helps nourish skin cells and keep them vital. It is especially important after a workout to clean your skin and rid any bacteria, to prevent buildup.
